Movie: Leon: The Professional (1994)

Starring: Jean Reno, Gary Oldman, Natalie Portman, Danny Aiello, Peter Appel, Michael Badalucco, Ellen Greene, Elizabeth Regen, and Carl J. Matusovich
Plot: An assassin is forced to raise a young girl after her family is killed by the DA.
Review: One of the better movies I’ve seen. The chemistry between Reno and Portman is absolutely fantastic. I loved their witty banner. I loved seeing them grow closer. And, I loved their devotion to eachother. But, most of all, I liked the awkward sexual tension there. It’s really quite hilarious, especially considering that Portman was 13 (!) at the time. How they got away with that, I’ll never know. But I sure am glad that they did. It’s amazing that they somehow managed to overshadow Oldman too. Because he really lets loose here. His villain is everything I love to see in a bad dude. He’s crazy. He’s intimidating. But, most of all, he’s freaking hilarious. Oldman really is one of the best actors out there. I hope he gets him comeuppance in the form of an Oscar very soon. Awesome, badass movie. Everyone should see this. Especially fans of Natalie like me.
