365 Day Movie Challenge: August 31, 2012
Movie: Annie Hall (1977)
Director: Woody Allen
Starring: Woody Allen, Diane Keaton, Tony Roberts, Carol Kane, Paul Simon, Shelley Duvall, Janet Margolin, Colleen Dewhurst, and Christopher Walken
Plot: The complete relationship, from first meeting to final breakup, between a Jewish television comedian and a shy, small town singer.
Review: Once again, I’m at one of those moments where I have no idea what to say because the movie I’m reviewing is such a classic. Do I point out how hilarious Woody Allen is? Like, every line he says is instantly quotable? Or should I point out how adorable Diane Keathon is? Or maybe how awesomely the story is told? With all of the sidebars and visual jokes? Yeah. I think I should mention all of that. Because that’s what reviews should do. Even if it is a classic.
P.S. This is only my second Woody Allen film. I will probably see them all eventually. Because I’m really starting to like this guy.
